Auto Correction Windows and Mac

Howdy,

whoever had the idea to implement some sort of auto correction. Well, it is prohibited to threaten people the way I'd like to do it now. However, it is nice that the checkbox for deactivation of this function really works in Yosemite on Mac. My attempts on Windows 8.1 .. - forget it.

Developers - I understand that there are many people who need to have things to be easy. People who are not able to write correct sentences anymore and need help. Somehow there exist some people on this planet trying to learn other languages or/and that are firm in communication in several languages.  The way auto correction works now is not good.

Ja, ich weiß: Googlen hilft. Also kurz: Beim Deutschen Marken- und Patentamt kann man schnell nachschauen, ob die Marke, die man benutzen möchte, schon geschützt ist.

Deshalb empfehle auch ich PGP

Auf dem Kongress des Chaos Computer Clubs hat es (mal wieder) mindestens einen Vortrag gegeben, der erklärt, warum PGP eine tolle Technologie auch für den Privatmann ist. (Ok, der Vortrag geht über De-mail und Konsorten. Die Quintessenz ist, dass das alles Quatsch ist und man leider weiterhin andere Lösungen braucht.)

Ich selbst benutze auf meinem Mac GPGTools und auf einem Android K9mail zum Versenden von Emails mit der Schlüsselverwaltung APG.
Ich hoffe ja, dass bald die Guardian Rom fürs Nexus 5 fertig ist. Dann wird es für mich hoffentlich einfacher, meine privaten Daten privat zu halten.

Used this howto ( german (similar) ). Beware of the dead links. This is why the installation is kind of hard. But if one follows the instructions and knows that a new user on the admin page is a new principal ;-), then things are fine.

Erste selbstgeschriebene man-page

Ich wollte schon immer, seit dem ich Unix kenne, eine eigene Hilfeseite für ein Kommandozeilenprogramm schreiben. Heute habe ich es zum ersten Mal geschafft. *freu* Wenn man weiß, wonach man sucht, ist es gar nicht schwer. Mir halfen dabei diese Seiten. Mit ersterer habe ich meine eigene Hilfeseite geschrieben, letztere Seite brauchte ich noch, um die Hilfeseite zu testen und überall zugänglich zu machen.

Damit sollte sich die Zeit, die ich momentan zum Kompilieren von großen Dokumenten brauche, verbessern.

Aspell

Heute habe ich mich entschieden Aspell als Programm für die Rechtschreibprüfung meiner LaTeX Dateien zu benutzen. Schade, dass Kevin Atkinson nicht bei seinem Projekt weiter unterstützt wird.

Die Idee kam von einem Ubuntu-Forum und ich nutze den Befehl

aspell list -t -l en --encoding=ISO-8859-1 < DATEI.tex >> tmp_DATEI_spell.asc

CUPS problem solved

Today I had to resusitate my macbook today after I have written into /etc/authorization... This was because I tried the things discussed here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2374598?start=0&tstart=0 (socc123her's contributions)
My problem was somehow similar to this here.

Finally I tried the following from macadmincorner: I edited /etc/cups/cupsd.conf in the terminal using emacs.

sudo emacs /etc/cups/cupsd.conf

There I changed the file so that this

# All administration operations require an administrator to authenticate...
  
    AuthType Default
    Require user @SYSTEM
    Order deny,allow

was changed into

# All administration operations require an administrator to authenticate...
  
    AuthType Default
    Require user @SYSTEM @lpadmin
    Order deny,allow

and

  # All printer operations require a printer operator to authenticate...
  
    AuthType Default
    Require user @AUTHKEY(system.print.admin) @admin @lpadmin
    Order deny,allow
  

was changed the same way, that "Require user" now includes "@lpadmin".
